REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES FOR YEAR ENDED 31st
March 2003 (cont'd)
The
funds held in investments have accumulated over the years and
are the main source of income for the charity. In view of the
current economic climate the trustees continue to monitor the
investments albeit the value of investments has decreased somewhat.
INVESTMENT
POLICY
Whilst the trustees have the power to invest in such assets as
they see fit, all investments are undertaken on advice of the
honorary treasurer, because of his expertise in the field of banking
investment. Sufficient funds are kept on deposit to be available
to satisfy demand from any requests for grants, bearing in mind
the restricted nature of the funds that are held on trust by the
Charity.
SUMMARY
Sunderland Guild of Help is an established charity supporting
the citizens of Sunderland, who are in need by means of direct
grants or indirectly by providing accommodation for other charities,
with similar aims. It is the intention of the trustees that the
Guild will continue to operate quietly and effectively as it has
done since 1907.
On behalf of the Board,
Dr
N Taylor MBE
Chairman of Trustees.
