MINUTES OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING SUNDERLAND GUILD OF HELP HELD ON THURSDAY 25th OF NOVEMBER, 2010 AT THE MAYOR’S PARLOUR Present: The Mayor & Mayoress, Dr N Taylor, Mr & Mrs

representative from Wearside Women in Need.

Speaker: Our speaker this year was Mr Peter Thubron who is a
much respected prosecutor solicitor and one of the best defender solicitors widely
known in the city of Sunderland. Peter Thubron gave a first class talk outlining the
role of solicitors who have to deal with local issues in the magistrate’s
courts. Mr Thubron spoke briefly about his own work as a
solicitor in Sunderland and his role as an advocate solicitor at the Crown
Court. Mr Thubron finished with a couple of interesting
stories and everyone present really enjoyed his talk.
Vote
of Thanks: Dr Taylor thanked Mr Thubron for an interesting
talk and presented him with a token gift. The Mayor of Sunderland Councillor Thomas Martin
thanked the Guild for the invitation to attend the AGM. He acknowledged recognition for the work The Guild
of Help has done over the last century helping the poor and gave words of
encouragement to continue the work
